Croftamie village lies of the South Eastern border of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. It as about 3 miles (5km) from the village of Drymen. The village itself was originally developed around the railway station which is no more and was there to support the rural community of the area.
Buchanan Castle is close to Croftamie and was the original family home of the Dukes of Montrose and of course has links the famed Rob Roy McGregor.
For those that love Golf, there are two courses just outside Croftamie, Stratendrick, which is a 9 hole course and Buchanan Castle Golf Course which is a beautiful parkland course. There are also about a dozen more courses within an hours drive of Croftamie
Croftamie has excellent small roads and tracks nearby where cycling and walking is popular. and because of its southern proximity, people who like to be based in the country but also want to visit the cities and larger towns use this village. Glasgow is only 40 minutes away and Stirling 30 minutes away whilst Lomond Shores Centre is 20 minutes away.
