Loch Ard is only 1 mile from
Aberfoyle on the Inversnaid and Stronachlachar B829. The loch is in three parts which are joined by beautifull waterways. The current course fish record for Perch caught in Scotland - is by J Walker who caught a 4lb 14oz (2.210kg) perch in Loch Ard in 1989. Fishing is allowed by permit from boats or bank. Loch Ard also has quite a reputation for catching large pike.
In inclement weather the smaller parts of Loch Ard at the
eastern end afford a lot of shelter. The scenery is absolutely
breathtaking.
